Show & Tell: Little Bags of Safety

With Rachel Tomlinson FRSA
Thursday 5 November, 7–8pm

How can we help children feel safer, more regulated and more ready to learn?

In this Neuroinclusive Educator Show & Tell, Rachel Tomlinson will share her Little Bags of Safety practice — a simple, practical approach designed to support children with co-regulation and, over time, help them develop greater awareness of what they need to regulate themselves.

Rachel will talk us through where the idea came from, what the bags contain, how they are introduced and used with children, and the impact she has seen in practice. Most importantly, this is a chance to see what the approach actually looks like in a real school setting and to think about how similar ideas might be adapted for your own pupils and context.

The session connects particularly with Settling, one of the five elements of Neuroinclusive Practice: creating the conditions in which a learner’s brain and body are able to access learning.

Rachel will have around 30 minutes to share her practice, followed by plenty of time for questions, discussion and ideas from the community.

The Neuroinclusive Educator Show & Tell series is about educators sharing what is working in real settings — not presenting perfection, but opening up practice so that we can learn from one another.

Come along if you are interested in practical, neuroaffirmative ways to support regulation, reduce barriers to learning and help children gradually build a toolkit that works for them.
